Founded in 1981 by E.L. "Bert" Pooser, Jr., with two hotels, IMIC has developed into an award winning hotel and management company. Made up of exuberant employees, with a range of capabilities and experience, IMIC specializes in operations, human resources, sales, marketing, design, development, finance and accounting. Investors, partners, employees, and guests alike can be assured that every aspect will be approached with integrity and expertise.
IMIC currently owns and/or manages 15 hotels, suites, and inns covering the southeast. The properties now in operation consist of Hampton Inns, Wyndham Gardens, Wingate by Wyndhams, a Fairfield Inn & Suites, Quality Inns & Suites, Comfort Suites, a Suburban Extended Stay Hotel and The Inn at USC; a historic boutique hotel located on the campus of the University of South Carolina. In addition to these hotel properties IMIC also owns and operates Lighthouse Marina on Lake Murray in Chapin, SC, as well as two Stow-Away Storage facilities.
WHO WE ARE
IMIC Hotels operates under the direction of the Executive Offices, located in Columbia, South Carolina. The "Home Office" is just that– a base for all operations from human resources, sales, marketing, design, development, finance, and accounting. In addition to the corporate headquarters in Columbia, IMIC also employs over 400 people at hotels in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Property Development & Management | IMIC Hotels manages hotels, but we also develop, build and maintain them. Our property development and construction management skills reflect the experience our staff has gained over the years, both in new construction and in the maintenance and renovation of existing properties. Financial Management | With stringent cost control mechanisms, information technology systems, and astute purchasing rationale, investors in IMIC Hotels are assured of financial management characterized by the highest level of confidence and integrity. Standardized operating policies and procedures are administered by senior management, as each hotel is personally supervised by a regional vice president. The corporate support staff includes specialists in marketing, accounting, safety and security, housekeeping and maintenance.
